AISSC Club Rules & Regulations

 

1. That this club shall be called the All Ireland Shetland Club. that its objects are.
  (a) To promote the breeding and exhibition of pure Shetland Sheepdogs.
 

 

(b)

 

To adopt and publish the description and Standard of Points of the Breed and to urge the adoption of this type on breeders, judges, dog show committees, etc. as the only recognised Standard by which the Shetland Sheepdogs are to be judged, and which may in future, be uniformly accepted as the sole standard of excellence in breeding and awarding prizes of merit in Shetland Sheepdogs.

That the club shall consist of a Patron, President, Chairman, Vice-President, Honorary Secretary and Treasurer, an Irish Kennel Club Representative, A Committee of Seven and an unlimited number of members whose names and addresses shall be kept by the honorary Secretary. Members to be elected by the Committee.

That the Annual subscription shall be as decided at the Annual General Meeting each year. That no member shall be deemed a member or entitled to the privileges of membership until his subscription shall have been paid. The liability of a Member ends with his yearly subscription (except as stated in rule 4.) and he is not liable for any further calls on the funds, but Members may make special donations to the Club for to the Club for any objects approved of by the Committee.

Members wishing to withdraw from the Club shall express their wish in writing to the honorary Secretary prior to the first of November of ant year in which they wish their Membership to cease, otherwise they shall be held to continue their membership and shall be held liable for their Subscription for the current year. The Committee shall have the power to suspend or dismiss any Member whose conduct they deem to be injurious to the interests of the Club.

That the affairs and management of the Club shall be conducted by the aforesaid Officers and Committee: that no Member shall be eligible for election to any post as Officer or on a Committee until he or she shall be a fully paid up Member for three consecutive full Subscription years: five shall for a Quorum, and Members shall be given seven days notice of a committee meeting.

That the Annual General Meeting shall be held early in October each year or at a convenient date or place to be fixed by the Committee. The quorum for the meeting to be not less than 15. The election of the Committee and Officers shall take place take place at the Annual General Meeting and the said Committee and Officers shall continue in Office until their successors are elected.

 

7.

That notice of any proposed alteration in the Rules, Constitution of the Club or Standard of points must be lodged in writing with the honorary Secretary.

Any member who shall be suspended by the Irish kennel Club shall ipso facto cease to be a Member of Club. If the conduct of any Member shall in the opinion of the Committee be injurious or likely to be injurious to the interests of the Club, the Committee may at a meeting, a notice convening which includes as a object the consideration of the conduct of the Member, determine that the special General Meeting be called for the purpose of passing a resolution to expel him / her. Notice of both Meetings shall be sent to the accused Member giving particulars of the complaint and advising him/her of the time the place, date and hour that He/she may attend and offer an explanation. If by two-thirds majority of the Members present voting, His/Her name shall be forthwith removed from the list of Members and He/She shall thereupon cease for all purposes to be a Member of the Club except that He/She may within two calendar months appeal to the Irish Kennel Club upon and subject to such conditions as the Kennel Club may impose.

 

9.

Any Member absent from a General Meeting or any Committee Meeting may not vote by letter on any point of which due notice has been given.

 

10.

Members of the Club are responsible for the expense of engraving any Cups or Trophies.

 

11. In the event of the Club being wound up all cups and specials shall be handed up to the Irish Kennel Club whose decision in all matters shall be final.
